Residents of Kakesio Ward, located in the
Ngorongoro Division of Ngorongoro District, Arusha Region, are set to benefit
from a new water project aimed at providing clean water for both livestock and
domestic use.
The Government, through the Ngorongoro
Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), has drilled a 110-metre-deep borehole
expected to produce up to 80,000 litres of water per day.
This initiative is part of the government’s
continued efforts to improve the wellbeing of communities living within the
Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Similar projects have already been completed in
the Mount Matiti area, serving residents of Endulen and Laetoli Wards. A
similar project will soon be implemented in Olbalbal Ward to help address
persistent water shortages for livestock and human needs throughout the year.
