On July 18, 2026, Evaline Saitoti, a young Maasai woman who resettled in Msomera with her family, solemnized her marriage and was welcomed into an American family currently residing in Zanzibar. The union constitutes not only a significant personal milestone but also exemplifies the emerging opportunities that have followed the family's voluntary relocation.
“Unlike Ngorongoro, Our life in Msomera has been characterized by opportunity, good life status surrounded by social services like schools, health centers, electricity, street road network, communication facilities and practice our traditional culture peacefully and safe” stated her elder brother, Emmanuel Saitoti.
“We have established a new home, and today we commemorate one of the most momentous occasions in our family’s history. Witnessing my sister establish her own family here is a blessing for which we are deeply grateful for what Tanzania Government did for us .”
Saitoti further noted that the family has fully integrated into their new community and maintains an optimistic outlook for the future.
“Msomera has afforded us the liberty to develop, to work, and to construct our lives with hope. Our hearts are replete with happiness today, for this place has truly become our home.”
As relatives, friends, and community members convened to honor Evaline’s wedding, the event transcended the bounds of a traditional marriage ceremony.
